On the fringes of the Health event, which took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Egypt's Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, met with his Emirati counterpart, Abdul Rahman Al Owais.

The discussion, according to Abdel Ghaffar, also covered ways to help the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, such as by delivering food and medical supplies, lessening their suffering, and providing the required medical care for those who have been hurt there.

He mentioned that the two ministers talked about their collaboration on the One Health Strategy, as well as the accomplishments of both nations in the areas of combatting antibiotic resistance, food and water safety, climate change and human and animal health. They also discussed working together to fight the most prevalent infectious and non-communicable diseases, as well as to prevent and monitor infectious diseases.

The discussion also included the "Decent Life" project, the "100 Million Health" presidential initiatives, full health coverage and Egypt's successful implementation of a comprehensive health insurance system. They also talked on governance in the context of digital transformation, as well as the UAE's successful implementation of digital transformation in the health sector.
